One of the best things about Longs Farm is the location. The cottage is perfectly placed to access the many outdoor activities the area has to offer, and there is something for all abilities.
For the Adventurous…
Heading south of the cottage towards Blandford, you will find Gorcombe Extreme Sports Centre which provides great facilities for quad biking and racing dirt buggies. Perfect for adrenaline junkies!
Alternatively, Moors Valley Country Park is suitable for all ages so a great day out for all the family. Set in the beautiful New Forest you can choose from different levels of adventure on their Go Ape treetop course, hire bikes and follow the many miles of cycle trails. Let the younger ones try the Nets Adventure or battle it out at Laser Tag in the woods! Moors Valley is also very accessible and have cross-country mobility scooters for hire.
For Water Babies…
It’s not the first time we have given the New Forest Water Park near Fordingbridge a shout out. (See our June blog on great family attractions). Their Aqua Park, Wake Park, kayak hire and SUPs offer families a fantastic place to enjoy a day out together. Do head over to their website here for more details.
Heading further south, the Dorset Coast has more adventurous options. From Coasteering and Rock Climbing to opportunities to get out on the open water with rib rides, windsurfing, water skiing and banana rides. Check out Jurassic Water Sports and Studland Beach‘s websites for more information.
To Relax…
The desire to be outside doesn’t always go hand in hand with adrenaline fuelled activity. There are as many options available for those wanting to take in the scenery and get some fresh air. A few miles away from the cottage is the beautiful Rushmore Golf Club which is open to visitors by advance booking 7 days a week.
The cottage is within easy reach of some lovely picturesque historical houses and gardens for you to explore including Wilton House, Kingston Lacy, Stourhead, Longleat, Old Wardour Castle, Highcliffe Castle and Brownsea Island.
