Why is the Cranborne Chase so good for Stargazing?

The Best Time to go Stargazing
May to June: The Season Begins. The evenings are warm, making it easy to spend time outdoors. Although the nights are shorter, the Summer Triangle of Vega, Deneb and Altair rises in the east, and on the right evening you may even catch the beautiful noctilucent clouds glowing low on the northern horizon.
July to August: Peak Stargazing Season. The Milky Way reaches its highest point in the sky, creating spectacular views on clear nights. Around 12th to 13th August, the Perseid meteor shower can produce up to 50 shooting stars per hour, making it one of the highlights of the astronomical calendar. Warm summer nights are perfect for relaxing outdoors with a blanket and watching the sky.
September: Our Favourite Month.For many, September is the best time to visit Cranborne Chase. The nights become longer, the skies are often at their clearest, and the summer crowds have disappeared. The Milky Way is still beautifully visible, and the cool, still evenings often provide the best viewing conditions of the year. Just remember to bring an extra blanket.
